Man Killed Changing Tyre On Roadside

A MAN was killed on the F3 yesterday when it is believed a vehicle hit him as he was changing a car tyre on the side of the road.

The accident happened about 3.15pm near the Cardiff exit ramp.

Police, ambulance crews and the Westpac rescue helicopter attended the scene.

Police were trying to contact the man's family before releasing any further information.

A woman, 26, came off a motorcycle about 10 kilometres from Kurri Kurri on John Renshaw Drive about 5.15pm yesterday.

A man, 53, who died when his motorcycle slid into a rock embankment in north Gippsland, was one of two people killed on Victoria's roads yesterday.

The accident occurred at 11.50am on Mount Baw Baw Road about 15 kilometres north of Noojee as the man was riding with three other motorcyclists, police said.

Earlier yesterday a man, 18, from the Melbourne suburb of Armadale died when his car struck a tree in north-east Victoria.

He died at the scene of the crash in Camp Street, Beechworth, 270 kilometres north-east of Melbourne, about 1am, police said. with AAP
