American extreme driver/rider Travis Pastrana has leapt into the record books with the world's longest rally car jump. The four-time Rally America champ launched his Subaru Impreza STi rally car off a pier at Long Beach, California, grabbing air for 82 metres before landing on a ramp on the opposite side. The New Year's Eve effort broke the existing ramp-to-ramp record of 52.1 metres and Pastrana completed the showmanship by sliding into a tyre wall to bring the car to a halt.
